Holiday Travel Assistance for Military Families

The Jack Daniels Operation Ride Home program helps bring military families together for the holidays. Operation Ride Home subsidizes the travel costs for eligible service members and their dependents to return home to spend time with their families during the holidays.

Program Overview

  • Travel assistance of up to $500/family member
  • Travel destination must be at least 350 miles from the service member’s installation
  • Participants must complete an application in its entirety to be consideredthis includes the required Leave Dates Approval Form for any service member who is traveling
  • Participants will be prioritized and selected based on need, as determined by ASYMCA Branch leadership. 
  • Submitting an application does not guarantee selection—selections are limited based on the total number of applicants and funds available per branch.
  • Applicants must be Active Duty E5 or below (dependents may not complete the application unless their service member is currently deployed)
  • Family members must travel with their service member, unless he/she is deployed at the time of travel
  • Applicants must download and complete the required Leave Dates Approval Form for any service member who is traveling
  • To apply through ASYMCA Fort Bragg, applicants must be stationed at Fort Bragg or Pope Army Airfield (if you’re located at another installation please contact your local ASYMCA for details)

The application period for Operation Ride Home is open September 1, 2025 – November 1, 2025.
